HOW TO GET TO THE JOŽEF STEFAN INSTITUTE

By local buses
In Ljubljana the public transportation is by buses (Ljubljanski potniski promet). The fee €0,8 can only be paid with the Urbana Card, which can be bought for €2 at many locations including various tobacconists and news-stands, tourist offices or the central bus station. Credit can be added for any amount between €1-50 at these same locations or at some three dozen green Ticket vending machines (Urbanomat) scattered around town. The fee includes unlimited number of bus changes within 90 minutes period. For group transport one card is sufficient, just inform the driver in advance how many persons you are paying for.

From the main bus and train station take bus number 9 (direction Trnovo), take off on the second bus stop (in front of the book store) and change to the line No. 1 (direction Mestni log) or 6 (direction Dolgi most). We recommend to take bus No. 1, because it stops in front of the side entrance to the Jožef Stefan Institute on Jadranska cesta (take off at the 5th bus stop). Bus No. 6 stops (5th bus stop) on Tržaška street about 5 minutes walking distance from the Institute. See the map with marked bus route.
