Electrochemical processes of passivation and corrosion on functional metal materials

In the field of electrochemistry corrosion and passivation processes on micro- and nanostructured functional materials for biomedical and technological applications are investigated by electrochemical, electroanalytical and surface analytical methods. Of special interests are processes of formation of protective surface layers in terms of passivation of the surface and protection of the bulk material. Electrochemical methods are used to investigate the mechanism of processes and are complemented with surface analytical and analytical methods to analyze the chemical compositon of the solid surface and products dissolved in solution, respectively.
