Member of European Parliament Matej Tonin visited the Jožef Stefan Institute Reactor Centre, where he met with an Institute delegation for an in-depth discussion on the development of nuclear energy and robotics. JSI Director Dr Leon Cizelj presented the Institute’s activities, main research areas, and key figures related to its research activities and staff. The programme also included presentations on nuclear technologies and the Institute’s role in this field, as well as its activities in robotics and artificial intelligence. The visit was organised as part of the preparations for the upcoming event Towards a Major European Robotics Initiative, which will take place in the European Parliament on 2 September 2026 and is being co-organised by the JSI. At the conclusion of the visit, Mr Tonin expressed his appreciation for the work presented and the Institute’s research capabilities.
