1993 - B.S. Degree in Physics: »Study of phase transitions in RbSCN, KSCN and NH4SCN with quadrupolar perturbed nuclear magnetic resonance«, Department for Physics, Faculty of natural sciences and technology, University of Ljubljana

1996 – Ph.D. in Physics: »Study of multidimensionally modulated incommensurate systems with nuclear magnetic and quadrupole resonance«, Department for Physics, Faculty of natural sciences and technology, University of Ljubljana

1999 – Post-doc position, prof. Hans Rudolf Ott, Solid State Physics Laboratory, ETH Zürich, Switzerland

Employment:

1988 - Jožef Stefan Insitute, Solid state physics department, Scientific Associate

Comissions, memberships:

  • Groupement AMPERE (European society for magnetic resonance)
  • EFNDT - WG5 APLD (European federation for non destructive testing, Work group 5, anti-personnel landmine detection)

Scientific interests:

  • Research of partially ordered or aperiodic matter with nuclear magnetic and quadrupole resonance (NMR and NQR) methods, and fast field cycling relaxometry (incommensurate systems, quasicrystals, complex metallic alloys)
  • Use of magnetic resonance methods for applied research in industry and civil engineering (e.g. dental cement, the influence of additives on cement hydration, bitumen, polymers, …)
  • Development of new NQR methods for remote detection of illicit nitrogen compounds (explosives and drugs)
